Clairen 3D Model (Rivals of Aether Fan Art)

This semester I've been learning ZBrush in my 3D Modeling 2 class. In this course, we were directed to pick an existing character to use as a reference while we master sculpting, starting first with sculpting a bust, then making a lowpoly version of it using Maya's Quad Draw, setting up that lowpoly bust for texturing, and then sculpting and posing the rest of the body in ZBrush using the skills we gained sculpting the head.

I opted to model Clairen, as I am a big fan of the Rivals of Aether games, and I wanted to be able to challenge myself by applying the human-oriented sculpting lessons onto a less human character, while still retaining that bipedal body type so I don't stray too far. Clairen is one of my personal favorite characters from the series, so it was a lot of fun to build her up from scratch.

Teeeechnically we're supposed to still be working on the bodies for the rest of the semester, but I wanted to have mine finished in time for my college's Media Arts Student Showcase, so I burned through the rest on my own time to model the body as quickly as possible.

I had a lot of fun making this. ZBrush is a new software to me, as I haven't been able to access it at reasonable prices without being a student, but there's a lot of appeal here and I can see why it's so heavily used.

Clairen is from the Rivals of Aether franchise, which belongs to Aether Studios.
