3D Living Room Model

For my final 3D Modeling 1 assignment, we needed to create a photoreal room with props in it, so I opted to make a living room. The assignment only called for about three complex objects, but I apparently lacked self control because I made...several. Every object in the room is modeled and textured from scratch by myself.

I am also aware of some glaring issues that I have since learned how to solve. I forgot to set an edge falloff on the lights, leading to absurdly sharp shadows where there shouldn't be. I also didn't quite figure out the displacement shader for the carpet, something I opted to do for fun since it wasn't covered in the class, and forgot to enable Arnold subdivisions to make the offset actually work. But now that I'm aware, I can do better next time!

Perhaps my favorite angle, which shows the bulk of the objects in a nice composition.

The pillows were a lot of fun to make, as just for the fun of it I designed them using nCloth physics and a passive collider ball that would slam into them to create their deformations.

A different angle, showing the door and the many, many blinds. You can also see the source of my wonky ultra-sharp shadows.

A harder to see but still proud pair of props. The black shelves all have probably some of my best texture work, and the box was fun to develop a story of painting, chipping, and repainting in black and white via its textures.
